My little sister graduated from the University of Limerick with a degree in New Media and English during the week. I am so proud of her; she worked really hard, got a really good degree and will be starting a masters in UL in a couple of weeks. Myself, my mam and dad were at the ceremony, my boyfriend joined us after for pictures, and then more family joined later for dinner and drinks. We had such a fantastic day and most importantly my sister really enjoyed herself. I thought I would do a quick "what we wore" post with details of the outfit I wore and what my sister wore for her graduation day.
My sister looked fabulous! She wore a dress from Oasis, shoes from River Island and her necklace is from the Newbridge eShe range. I loved this dress and shoes together; classy and simple. The necklace made the entire outfit a little more special, and the fact the stones are a pale blush colour means that it will go with everything! The structure of the dress and the way the stripes are laid out are really flattering and cinch in the waist. The material and the sleeves meant that the dress was comfortable and modest, very important especially when you have to walk on stage to collect your degree in front of hundreds of people!
I love clothes and I love putting outfits together. I am really self-conscious though, and I hate being in photographs, I never know what to do with my arms and legs! So posting this is a big step for me in getting over myself!
The jacket I wore is from Zara, I love it! I am only 5 foot 3 inches, so I hate collars on jackets and shirts because they hide my neck, making me look even shorter! This jacket has no collar and is quite loose so it's very comfortable. It goes with everything from jeans and t-shirt to a dress on a night out. My dress is old but you can find a similar one here or here. I have had this dress for years and it is an old faithful! I love the boat neckline, the detail on the shoulders and the tailoring which all creates the illusion of an hourglass figure. The skirt on the dress is cut to skim the hips and fall straight and loose above the knees, I think this type of skirt is great when you would like to wear a fitted dress but you want comfort or the occasion calls for something a little more reserved than a figure-hugging number! My shoes were 16 euro from Penney's and I was so excited when I bought them as they are really similar to Kurt Geiger's Bond shoes. My bag is from River Island, I love small cross-body bags and I am obsessed with leopard print so when I saw this I had to pick it up!
I hope you enjoyed my first what I wore post!!
